The Big Knit on Worldwide Knit in Public Day

June 12, 2010
10:00 amto4:00 pm

A few of you have been asking what we’ve got planned for this year’s World Wide Knit in Public Day on Saturday 12th June and after a few secret meetings and some canal-side lattes, I’m delighted to announce we’ll be hosting “The Big Knit” at the new Granary Wharf in Leeds. It’ll be a day for everyone to come together, sit, knit & crochet, and there’ll be entertainment and stalls too. But we also wanted it to be a chance for people who had never tried knitting or crochet before to come down and have a go for free. We need some serious man power for this. First of all, I’d be so grateful if you would pick up some flyers from the shop and disribute them to friends, colleagues, places where we might not reach (I am only 5 foot and a bit you see….). They’ll be ready in the next week or two. Second, I’m looking for volunteers to show people the basics on the day- you’ll get to wear (and keep) a rather lovely “I can teach ewe to knit” T-shirt and leave the day with a warm fuzzy feeling inside that you’ve helped spread our wonderful craft just a little wider in to the world. If you’re up for it, please sign up here and we’ll be in touch. Thanks so much.
