Excelana is the result of an exciting collaboration between John Arbon of Fibre Harvest and Susan Crawford, knitwear designer and author, bringing you a luxurious knitting yarn evoking vintage wools from the "Golden Age" of knitting.,Excelana yarn is 100% British wool, spun from the fleece of the Exmoor Blueface, which live on the moors of North Devon. A cross between the Exmoor Horn and the Bluefaced Leicester, the fleece of the Exmoor Blueface creates a lustrous yarn with a soft handle, great stretch and excellent stitch definition, affording the knitter a pleasurable knitting experience.,Excelana is processed and spun in Devon by Fibre Harvest, at Coldharbour Mill, one of only a handful of worsted fibre processing and spinning plants still operating in the UK.Excelana is supported with a collection of exclusive patterns designed by Susan and will also have pattern support provided in A Stitch in Time Volume Two. The Exmoor Blueface is a cross between an Exmoor Horn ewe and a Bluefaced Leicester ram. It was originally developed in Devon, but is now common across other parts of South West England too.
